New Ducati 999 Screens from Zero Gravity

Camarillo, CA - Zero Gravity Corporation unveils its most recent line of windscreens for the all new 2003 Ducati 999. To replicate the stock 999 windscreen, Zero Gravity molded the edge of its screen to meet flush with the fairing and maintain a smooth, sleek look. “We’re finding more and more of the new models these days have a recessed edge around the perimeter of the screen. Although this allows for a very attractive windscreen/ fairing combination, it makes the design process and production much more complicated,” said Glenn Cook, President of Zero Gravity. Cook still oversees and is personally involved in the design of every new product. “We don’t make our windscreens like any of the other companies. It’s a more intricate, involved process that allows for better optics and more strength and flexibility.” Cook was referring to the unique blow molding technique Zero Gravity employs, similar to the way fighter jet canopies are formed. “Because of our method, it’s much harder to achieve features like this lip, but we want to stay at the top of the market and offer people the benefits of both worlds- a stock fit and better optics . We put a lot of time into figuring out a way to make this recessed edge and still make our windscreens the same way we always have. We’re very pleased with the outcome of this new lineup.”
Stock Replacement, Double Bubble, Sport Touring, and Supersport racing screens are all offered for the new model, but without the obtrusive marker light at the bottom of the screen. “We found that a lot of people didn’t like the marker light, so our screens come without it. Customers have been really satisfied with this screen and it’s clean look,” Cook adds. Zero Gravity’s trademark screens are made with high quality acrylic plastic, available in a wide variety of colors with their signature hand-polished edges. For race enthusiasts, all Super Sport racing screens are made with lighter gauge plastic and come without holes for mounting to fiberglass bodywork. CBR 600RR Factory Used Racing Screens
Now Available from Zero Gravity

Camarillo, CA - Zero Gravity Corporation announces the release of its long awaited line of windscreens for the 2003 CBR 600RR. Before it’s formal release to the public, Zero Gravity’s 600RR Super Sport screen proved race worthy by American Honda, Erion Racing and most AMA Supersport racers. “Our involvement with the factory teams really showcases our ability to make aerodynamic screens tailored to the high speed racer,” said Glenn Cook, President of Zero Gravity. Cook was probably referring to Zero Gravity’s 10-year relationship with Erion Racing, 11 years with American Honda and many of the other teams that continually use their screens. The 2001 season marked the end of Zero Gravity’s sponsorship with the Factory Honda team, in which case the Honda race team began purchasing Zero Gravity screens. “This screen ran the 2003 racing series on the Honda and Erion Factory teams as well as a lot of other teams. In fact, when the season started we were the only company that offered a racing screen for this bike. We know the screen performs on the racetrack and that the teams are pleased with it, so now we’re offering it to the public.” The new Super Sport racing screen fits flush to the fairing without a marker light, uses lighter gauge plastic and comes undrilled (as do most race screens) for mounting to custom fiberglass bodywork.
For street use, Stock Replacement, Double Bubble, and Sport Touring screens are also available in a wide variety of colors using the highly optical 1/8” acrylic plastic Zero Gravity is famous for. Street versions are made to fit just like stock, mounting snug to the marker light at the nose of the screen and using stock fasteners. To order, contact Zero Gravity at 1-800-345-9791 or view photos of the RR windscreens and other products at www.zerogravity-racing.com.
